We understand that right-minded people around the world are looking for reasons of any kind as to why democracy and the US are now under attack. "I'm hoping that you can help me with this campaign" she calls Tips Against Terrorism. She calls on others in the hospitality industry to donate a portion of their tips or perhaps an hour's pay to contribute to this cause. "If every tipped employee.. would (donate to the Red Cross proceeds of) one shift, it might help make a difference." These forces conspired to make it appear that Lebanon was in a civil war, then marched in pretending to be peace-makers and conquered the country. The U.S. let it happen in spite of pleas for help from the Lebanese, and when the Syrians and the PLO murdered several hundred of our Marine peacekeepers, we tucked in our tail and went home. THE STATE DEPARTMENT NOW CONFIRMS THAT US AND BRITISH SPECIAL FORCES ARE ON AFGHAN SOIL on reconnaissance missions as part of an effort to locate terrorist Osama bin Laden. AFGHANI TALIBAN (PRO BIN LADEN) "SECURITY FORCES" HAVE REPORTEDLY "ARRESTED" THREE US SOLDIERS AND TWO PRO-US AFGHANIS according to Afghani television. US officials say they cannot confirm the report. Afghani television says photos of the prisoners will be released Saturday. ODDLY, TALIBAN LEADERS SAY NO US OR BRITISH FORCES HAVE ENTERED AFGHANI TERRITORY THOSE LEADERS CLAIM TO CONTROL. So where did those "prisoners" Taliban "arrested" come from? There are authoritative reports that both British and US forces are on the ground in Afghanistan. Could it be that Taliban puppet-leaders will contradict any confirmed news that comes out of Afghanistan? What's next? The Taliban denies there are mountains in their country? The Taliban intends to grant civil rights to its women and children and accept the sanctity of innocent human life? TERRORIST BIN LADEN FRIDAY DENIED HE HAD ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE 9/11 ATTACKS. In a statement released to Pakistani officials, he suggested that Jews may have set up the attacks -- Jewish residents of Florida who are still upset that George W. Bush "stole" the 2000 election from Al Gore. It is suspected that bin Laden is crazy like a fox -- but crazy nevertheless. UH OH, NEWS FLASH: Clinton administration policies are in some ways responsible for the current state of terror in the US and around the world, especially with regard to Israeli-Palestinian relations. Secretary of State Colin Powell implied such Friday. There are some intelligence experts who say Osama bin Laden has developed a relationship with Palestinian terrorists, along with many other terrorist organizations around the world. Editorial comment: Leading by consensus using poll results, as the Clinton administration did, is adequate in some eras, but there are often times a leader rather than a follower of polls based on uninformed public opinion is needed. Such a political approach may go down, in the wake of 9/11, as the great political failure of the 1990s. We often count on our leaders to know more than we do and to lead accordingly. A new theory suggests the majority of the men didn't know they were on a suicide mission but thought the passengers aboard the planes were simply to be taken hostage, CBS News reports. Investigators are also said to be considering the possibility there were to be five people on board each suicide plane -- but one of those set to hijack -- Zacarias Moussaoui -- was arrested two weeks before the September 11th attacks on INS violations. BLOOD ON HIS HANDS? Ex-President Clinton is reportedly telling anyone who'll listen, including talk show hosts, that the September 11th tragedies weren't his fault. The show's star, Bill Maher, made a remark last week indicating he feels the US military has been "cowardly" when fighting wars by dropping bombs while terrorists were not cowardly by giving up their lives smashing hijacked airlines into the World Trade Center. Sponsors have been dropping off the show -- so much so that there are barely any left -- at a time when its hard to find anyone to buy advertising.
