CROP DUSTING PLANES GROUNDED AGAIN -- CHEMICAL OR BIOLOGICAL ATTACK FEARED

THE FIRST SHOTS OF THE WAR ON TERRORISM HAVE BEEN FIRED BY BRITISH TROOPS IN AFGHANISTAN, according to the Sydney, Australia, Daily Telegraph. The anti-Taliban forces say they're gaining ground on the Taliban regulars.

A SPECIAL BRITISH SQUAD -- SOME WORKING UNDERCOVER -- IS REPORTED TO HAVE FOUND TERRORIST OSAMA BIN LADEN IN AFGHANISTAN. 

MEANWHILE, THE RULING TALIBAN IN AFGHANISTAN CLAIM THEY CAN'T FIND BIN LADEN. They also claim they've shot down a second plane flying over Afghani territory. The first was said to be an unmanned "drone."

ALTHOUGH IRAQ'S SADDAM HUSSEIN IS SAID TO HAVE BEEN INVOLVED IN THE SEPTEMBER 21ST ATTACKS, information is conflicting. CIA and Israeli intelligence experts say the Madman of Baghdad was clearly involved but so far there's no proof; but the IDF says there's proof that Iran was involved. 

THE FBI IS SEARCHING FOR A MAN BELIEVED TO BE THE ORGANIZER OF THE TERRORIST ATTACKS on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. But they don't know his identity. In fact, the identities of most if not all the men who hijacked planes September 11th may have been  assumed, according to the Times of London, indicating that their true identities aren't known -- and neither, for that matter, is the true identity of Ramzi Yousef, who's in a federal prison, convicted of the bombing of the Trade Center in 1993.

FOUR OR FIVE GROUPS RELATED TO TERRORIST OSAMA BIN LADEN HAVE BEEN IDENTIFIED, all operating in the US, according to Sunday editions of the Washington Post. Cropdusting planes nationwide were grounded last Sunday; they're back in the skies again, but are not allowed in airspace over cities. 

THE US HAS WARNED ITS ALLIES OF POSSIBLE TERRORIST ATTACKS THIS WEEK. Pakistan could be struck, as could a NATO ally, a US government report says.

The New York Stock Exchange saw its three busiest days ever Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Investors just don't like the uncertainty of the economy in the wake of last week's terrorist attacks. 

THE DOW CLOSED OFF 140 POINTS FRIDAY to close at 8235, its lowest level in three years. The Nasdaq dropped 48 points to close at 1423. 

IN A SPEECH TO CONGRESS AND THE NATION THURSDAY NIGHT, PRESIDENT BUSH WARNED FOREIGN LEADERS NOT TO STAND IN THE WAY OF US EFFORTS TO TRACK DOWN INTERNATIONAL TERRORISTS. "This will not be an age of terror," Bush said. "Either you are with us, or you are with the terrorists...We will rally the world to this cause by our efforts, by our courage. We will not tire, we will not falter and we will not fail." Bush named Pennsylvania Governor Tom Ridge to the new cabinet-level post of Secretary of the Office of Homeland Defense.

When asked by the officer at a security point what was in the bag, he pulled a gun and shot the agent, witnesses say. The gunman was shot; his condition is unknown. The building was sealed off and evacuated.

That's why Saudi Arabia and UNOCAL had planned an oil pipeline through Afghansitan -- but abandoned it because of the political instability of the nation.

His forces could see that the Taleban would eventually end up in the American camp if things proceeded as they had been. This latter statement was an attempt to rescue the Taleban relationship while giving the Taleban leaders the message that they must ditch bin Laden. For good measure American missiles also took out a factory in the Sudan - a smoke screen for the real target of their action.

"Now matters are really in a mess. Iran has actually issued a statement supportive of the U.S. actions. The Taleban are angry, and American citizens across the globe are now the targets of the most fanatical of Islamic militants."
